The Couple: a Love Poem

Not enough time
is spent marvelling
at The Couple
How two people
from different worlds
speaking in tongues
can pick up their separate lives
and smash them together
As if it were
the most natural thing in the world
I use the word
Smash
because it is violent work
Two individuals
now joined in a hybrid existence
brought to life with the electricity
of new love
A veritable Frankenstein
A new entity
now so intrinsically linked
that it cannot be uncoupled
without spilling blood

I am a writer based in Brighton, UK. I am a creative writer at my heart with a lot of my work being poetry and novels, however I also enjoy writing about health, travel and development both professional and personal.

When I am not writing you will find me curled up with a good fantasy or historical novel, baking up a storm in the kitchen or taking long country walks with my trusty Cockapoo Ralph.

Here are some articles that have been published previously when I was a writer for Women Fitness:
