Twine

By words, I was captivated
Every letter was a brick laid
In a path that led to you
I daydreamed of your lips on mine
And twine made of our fingers

Standing beside you
And breathing your air
I felt something different
Our bodies weren’t magnets
Your hand stayed by your side
Which I did not fight for
Nor did you fight for mine
