TSA Regulation

their story started long before a corner booth in a dive bar on grand
with burned down houses and dynamite thrown into well-intentioned lives

under the sound of the waves from a highway sea
they remembered each other
remembered themselves

they trespassed through caution tape
warning signs and waving red flags
pressing every trigger warning and loaded gun in sight

it’s hard to deny a quenching thirst after years in the desert
impossible to say no to their hearts’ mirror reflection

forgetting again was easy
the weight of their luggage well over TSA regulation
should have known it would swallow them whole
