Too Much

I like you too much.
I want you too much.
I need you too much.
I miss you too much.
It’s you I think of
And I don’t know why
You hardly speak to me
And so I cry–
My thoughts are too much.
My dreams are too much.
My words are too much.
My feelings are too much.
I know you want her
I see her in your mind’s eye
Or it’s all in my head
So still I cry–
For loving you too much,
But you said there’s no such thing.
And if what you said were true,
Tell me why I wasn’t enough for you.
