Thank You

I’m grateful for this feeling —

this gut wrenching ache;

the throb of my heart as it beats in the confines of my throat.

You were real,

it tells me.

I cared for you —

up close, and from a distance.

Your light found a home in me;

some days dim, others an inferno.

Find peace —

in the still and quiet,

in my raging thoughts,

in all the uncertainty.

You were real;

so, thank you.
