Sunglasses and Advil

Love tastes like fresh rain mixed with the salt from my tears
years
spent wishing you’d live up to the potential I saw in you
got accustomed to
your lies
I dressed them up as pretty promises although my heart admonished me to see otherwise
still I tried
and now instead of pineapple kisses that used to drip off your lips
Love tastes like remnants of too many shots of tequila, a hangover I now have to deal with.

I've always loved the arts and began writing when I was eight-years old. I believe art is a beautiful way of expressing yourself and an amazing form of therapy be it performing, written or visual. I enjoy traveling, cooking, spending time with friends and family and a good glass of wine.
