Stronger

I will not choose to define myself based upon your limited vocabulary.

Stupid. Dumb. Worthless. Trash.

Is that the best you have to offer?

Failure. Disgrace. Waste.

I am so much more than your mind can comprehend.

I am resilient, courageous, fierce-hearted, and brave.

I have walked through the fire,

Climbed the highest mountains of heartache,

I have found my voice to shout echoes of hope,

And, most of all, I am stronger than your words.

But, then again,

There are some things you will never understand.

I am a New Jersey based poet who aspires to share my story through poetry and prose focused on faith and my journey with depression. I have overcome many obstacles and I believe everyone has a story to tell, even if they haven't found the words yet. I hope my words can inspire others to believe in their purpose and to find strength to climb the next mountain.
