There is a technique to stillness. In a world where we are taught from birth to learn, move, and react to all of things that make up our atmospheres, we often forget the art of stillness. We, at times, avert from being still at all, refusing to be present because we simply don’t know how. These characters in our being often move us from one thought to the other, from one place to another. Never really knowing the experience that is… now.
In order to come back to our intentions and to try to be that stillness, we must slow it down. We must discover the things that matter most away from results. After all, what matters most is the adventure itself- remember that.
We must foster connection and kindness which allows us to experience a moving life with the people we interact with the most in our lives. There is value in mindful practices and micro steps when we need to foster a connection and avert from rushing to the ‘experience’ that is our lives. We run our files of questions to try and get to know someone, we look at profiles online and run an assumption based on so little of what a person exhibits. Slow it down. It’s simple… when meeting someone you don’t know, you can take the time to practice a stillness and enjoyment and really be present as you greet them. Although this may only take a few seconds, this small connection will be appreciated for simply taking the time. It allows for a reciprocity of real connection and humanity for both people. This connection would have not happened if you simply passed them by. Ladies and gentlemen, this simple act of stillness and kindness can expand itself out into the world.
