You’re my sunflower;
the light that makes me bloom,
the only one to usher out the yellow in me.
I grow tall with you.
In times of doubt, I lean on you.
By your light, I’m guided out of any rain storm.
I feed off of your sweet radiance.
Intoxicating enough to make any bystander sky-high.
Gentle not to pluck,
I pray to keep your petals strong
as I pray to stand beside you as they grow.
Compared to your power,
I am merely a weed astonished by your beauty.
Your beauty is remarkably the brightest flower.
A flower I knew I had spotted all along.
