Someone You Loved

are you staring at the same moon

can you feel the sorrow in my bones

the empty thoughts that come

with losing you

all the questions left unanswered

I would have chased the morning glow of the sun for you

brought it in to brighten your darkest day

I would have fought a thousand wars

to keep you close

anything to ensure your happiness could bloom

I would give anything for you to see you the way that I do

how the light within explodes from your eyes when you talk about something you love

I wish I could have been something you loved

I have a BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment from Full Sail University. I have been a freelance writer for eight years, and writing poetry since I was about 12. Poetry has always been a way for me to not only cope with life, but to express the feelings that overwhelm me.
