Save Yourself

I don’t wanna get close to you
But I can’t pry myself from your grasp
You’re an ocean
And I can’t swim a bit
I’m drowning in you
You’re a rose bush
And I can’t hide myself from your beauty
But when I’m admiring you
I cannot protect myself from your thorns
You’re like a parachute
When I’m jumping off a plane
I feel safe knowing you’re there
But there’s still a chance you won’t open
You’re like the lottery,
I keep putting out everything I have
But there’s still a chance I may not win
Yet I’m still willing
Every time we sin it’s worth it
I’ll give you a new piece of myself
Chances are you’ll hurt me
Just from my experiences
with everyone else
But you’re a piece of earth
I’m willing to delve into
Willing to steer the ship
On stormy waters
Even if when we go down
You only save yourself..
