Purest Form of Love

I want you to destroy me in every possible way.

Make me feel the overwhelming love begging to flow throughout my body.

Give a new meaning to storm.

Just as the rain promises within every passing drop, I’ll never stop.

To love unconditionally is the only way I know how to.

I will love you madly, passionately and all at once.

It’ll be our best kept secret, only for us two.

Shared between faint sobs and deep kisses.

Let me ease into you and expose the parts you curse.

I’ll be gentle to bring peace to your mind

and leave marks of my love in every spot you try to forget.

You will remember the poems I wrote in every dirty niche of your body.

And then I will write ballads about the way your hands felt on my skin.

I will count each hour as seconds, begging time to pretend not to notice.

When I look into your eyes, I’ll see a never ending field of roses.

Roses in the color of the purest red.

I imagine you bring out the color in them as you do me.

You will find my hand in the darkest of shadows ahead,

and I will find your’s beneath your demons.

Together, a new light will form after each nightmare.

I will discover the magic of the right set of arms,

as well as the strongest fear of being left behind by the one you love.

“I write for those women who do not speak, for those who do not have a voice because they were so terrified, because we are taught to respect fear more than ourselves. We’ve been taught that silence would save us, but it won’t.” -Audre Lorde
