I often find myself going through the motions of life. It seems as if it’s harder to focus on my purpose because as the world continues to spin out of control, everything else seems out of reach. At times, life seems mundane. Another day where the future is unknown and fear and anxiety are knocking on my door. It’s harder to sense God’s presence when other things are begging for my attention; job applications, bills, making time for family, the list goes on.
This is when it’s easy for us to place God on the backburner of life. Saying, I don’t have enough time right now, maybe later. But the truth is, when God is at the center of our lives, everything else will fall into place. God says He holds us in the palm of His hand. He says He will never leave us or forsake us, that He has given us His Spirit as our Helper. It’s easy to forget our purpose, especially during this time, but if we are intentional about remembering who God is and who He has created us to be, it will cultivate a heart and attitude of joy and praise.
I think that’s what I’m missing right now: remembering the joy of the Lord is my strength. If I truly believe what God says in His Word, I would tell myself I am loved, I am worthy, I am set apart for a purpose because God’s Spirit is within me, I am His child and nothing can separate me from His love. As our loving Father, God reassures us that He is right by our side, He goes before us, behind us, with us, fighting our battles, preparing the way.
Today, I want to take a step back and say, “God, I am trusting you.” Let’s make it our mission to praise God amidst the mundane, the heartache, and the chaos. Let’s remember our calling and purpose. In God’s presence there is no room for fear or anxiety, only grace and love; If you feel far from grace today, it’s okay, we all stumble and fall at times. But, God’s hand is reaching out to you, He is mighty to save and will rejoice over you with a beautiful song, welcoming you back into His loving arms.
