The thing is, and it is a fact, women are less likely to ask questions. It is easy to mistake this quality for a strength, the not asking for clarification when it is needed badly, or the refraining of raising your hand when you have noticed an error in your professor’s instructions on a final project. How is it that we can learn, or even improve our learning style, if we hesitate to help ourselves to the vast energy that other human beings are inherently to enhance our intelligence, minus the guilt and self-depreciating cycle? How do we tap into and then burst out of the societal programming that has somehow uglified the self-improvement process?
First and foremost, since the age of 6, I was already the documented “abnormal child,” with mal-adaptive behaviors. I had grown to perceive myself as the child that needed help and was not capable of the smallest of tasks without accommodation or support, and truly, I found myself questioning the attempts to enhance my learning as being more of a crutch and less of an encouragement, in short, I felt insulted. Taking away my own awareness of whether I needed help or not, instead, by forcing it and having it become a permanent part of my daily experience at school, Elementary school! The purpose of my reflections on my experience before adolescence are necessary to share, since I feel that and have come to realize that through all the dependency that is created and almost enforced upon us in our early years, that as an adult it is much the opposite, yet, we wonder what makes the transition so hard?
The message I want to convey is that no relationship, friendship, whatever dynamic you find yourself in will ever be able to support your emotional, spiritual, mental, or physical well-being any more than you yourself can, and most probably, much less. When we go on social media, sometimes we search for others who we can relate to, or people who can comfort us when we feel low or less than.
When you start feeling unworthy, incapable, uncontrollable, or as though you need “help?” (I don’t suggest turning down therapy or professional assistance)
- Hold yourself in a space of Light- that older version of you that you are experiencing that is having doubts- alter his/her state of mind by affirmations and reassuring that being that the version of you that is WHOLE and INTEGRATED is here NOW. Love yourself as the love you would want to experience.
- Get out in nature and physically touch a tree– this will remind you that life is precious and that every moment counts- why spend it on a down ward spiral of self-negating thoughts? Take this time to be enclosed by the beauty of nature and feel yourself and your entirety, walk along a lonesome path and see how there is around to accompany you and energize you, nature awaits.
- Realize who Created the emotion- Take a moment to thank yourself for the EMOTION and let it move, let it pass, physically hold the emotion, and then loosen your clasp (repeat the process), feeling anger? Focus on a person that you love unconditionally, and if you are not the first person you think of (HINT*), breathe and send healing and love.
- Write down 3 things you love about yourself, 3 things you want to see happen with your life moving forward. Be your own STAR: start wishing and manifesting with a focused intent. BURN (literally) all things that do not have a place in your life anymore.
There is no need to depend on another for your own growth or evolution process, although support from family who truly have your best interest at heart, are always welcome to embrace you or listen to you, however, the idea is to drop all expectations and forms of dependence that do not allow for SELF-RELIANCE.
We are millennials, and in this age, not only are we golden and bright, we are living in a time of immense and profound spiritual ascension. There is nothing like coming in to Union with your own self and your own potential, and living in a world that constantly divides and separates you from your awareness and your power, this gives you the choice to see through the societal conditioning clearly. Become your own personal healing crystal, charged and vibrant with your own personal power, no one can take this away from you, it’s your own personal birthing. You must come into your own and be completely happy and grateful to stand, even if that means on your own.
