Morning

Every morning the
world is reborn.
The earth stretches and yawns,
full of thistles and thyme
in its pocket.
A kiss for you,
a kiss for me,
sunlit and bright.
Shake off yesterday’s weight
like shedding leaves in autumn.
Today is brand new,
a golden chance to be
who you’ve always wanted.
Listen to the wind chimes chattering in the breeze,
twinkling laughter like
stars twinkling in the night.
You have the courage,
you have the strength,
you have the heart.
There is a love in nature,
the constant changing of seasons,
the fish constantly swimming for hope,
the sun constantly kissing
everything it touches.
There is love in you too,
in the snow-arched mountain of your back,
in the pine-needled mess of your hair,
in the red tulip of your lips.
Mornings are for reflection,
the soft blush of appreciation,
the earth-toned shade of thankfulness.
This morning,
you are awake,
you are alive,
and you will be just fine.
