magic

it’s mixing flower petals with herbs,

feeling cleansed under the new moon,

and laughing with your best friends.

it’s running your fingers through the smoke,

talking through the jitters,

and finding meaning in dropped tarot cards.

it’s lighting each other’s cigarettes,

cutting locks of hair as keepsakes,

and giggling at the absurdity of it all.

life,

i mean.

it’s this. it’s here. it’s home.

I'm a non-binary and queer poet, and I have two self-published poetry books out. I'm also working on a novel and want to get more experience with different types of writing!
