Live with a broken heart

It’s hard to live and have a broken heart.

It’s not a new love that has evolved and grown to match us,
it is the love leftover when we had so much – the way we used to be.

The love from when we used to know one another and lived with the commitment to what we thought we would have.

So much of this feels stale because it was the love created and made from years ago.

This love is running out.
It is thinning – there is not new growth here, that’s why it feels different.

This love is thin, there are holes and missing spots.
It’s patchy – it’s not full and thick.

This love we have now is like lace.
It has holes and is weak.

That’s why we can’t handle anything, we keep breaking because we are breaking.
