Lantern

I reach out in the darkness
Something is in front of me
A lantern illuminates the black
I can finally see

Holding on to the light
Feelings of comfort wash over me
This tiny light means so much
I can finally breath
Light is contagious
It leaves me craving more
I don’t want the dark around me
Not wanting it to be like before
With lantern up high
I take my light and throw it to the ground
Flames are everywhere
Now there is light all around
My light is too bright to be dimmed
It is too strong to go out
It is a force to be reckoned with
Something I will never again be without

Washington Native. I am an adventurer trapped in a broken shell. I love deep and loud. My pain and happiness comes out on paper. Enjoy.
