He Left Me When I Was Young

He left me when I was young
To learn these things by myself
Don’t ever let a man use you and put you back on the shelf
Don’t let him sit around and do nothing while you do all the work
Don’t always be nice to him when he acts like a jerk
Don’t ever let him downplay your dreams
Don’t ever be with a man that isn’t on your team
Never depend on him because if it don’t work, he’ll rub it in your face
Always have a back up plan, just in case
Don’t ever confuse love and lust
And you should always make a fuss
Cause if you don’t they’ll take advantage
But don’t worry dad I’ve learned to manage
Because you left me when I was young
And that’s the worse thing a man has ever done
