Goodbye Twenty-Twenty

goodbye twenty-twenty

I’m tired of

your confusion and doubt

and all the chaos you’ve left behind

you’ve changed life

for everyone

and all I can do

is pick up my pen and write

because that is my armor

it’s time for the sun

to shine brighter

it’s time for us to use our voices

to frown out the

pain you’ve brought us

maybe you’ve helped us grow

and taught us what’s important

that time is not always

a thing we can hold on to

but this is where

we part ways

and say goodbye

I am a New Jersey based poet who aspires to share my story through poetry and prose focused on faith and my journey with depression. I have overcome many obstacles and I believe everyone has a story to tell, even if they haven't found the words yet. I hope my words can inspire others to believe in their purpose and to find strength to climb the next mountain.
