divided we’ll fall

white supremacist

at the park

mistook a Cuban man

for a Black one,

hit him in the back of the head;

and told him to “stay down”

then called him a word i will not repeat—

& there needs to be consequences

for evil:

racism is not okay,

causing harm to others isn’t all right;

and i am tired of my fellow

white people

sweeping black lives under the rug—

if all lives matter

then why does it bother you when they

say black lives matter?

have you been oppressed for hundreds of years?

no, i don’t think so.

this is not okay,

and it is not the america i want

for the children of the future;

i want a better world for us all

we have to fight together

instead of being divided because united

we stand but divided we’ll fall.
