Dear Abba

Clothe me in light
That I may be free
Of shrouds of man-made shame
Draped over me.
Draw near to me
That I might be full
Renewed with life
From your everlasting stream.
Use me as you will
I won’t resist your call.
Destroy my kingdom
Shatter me inside
That I might see things on earth
Through heaven’s eyes.
Strip me of power, home
And a dream
I collapse weeping
At your feet.
Longing deeper for
Your justice
From the injustice I’ve drank.
For truth, grace and love
Having seen deaths’
cold face.
You will remember me.
You will hear my call.
You will respond with love and righteous angry
Because that is who you are.
