Conjurations

rooted in delusions
figments
fragments
infatuation
runs tandem
with isolation
your security
dances around
my insecurity
it’s self-preservation
from the berating
that evokes
the dependency
of your ability
to console me
I am absorbent
of both
affliction and affection
for they depend
on one another
and cannot be isolated.
Through the howl
I can discriminate
your obligation
to my necessity
the false fabrication of you
still resolving
to renounce me
in the only place
we interface
in fragments
figments
rooted in delusions.

I am the poet behind Winnow Poetry. Although I have been writing since the mid 1990s, I began putting my poetry out on social media under the name Winnow Poetry in 2019. Writing has always been the most effective form of therapy for me. In my writing I address growing up in an emotionally and verbally abusive family, relationships, depression, anxiety, and creating the best version of myself through trial and error.
