Compete With Nobody But Yourself And Win

We are in competition with no ONE, but ourselves and every day is a reminder that you are only going to get as far as you are willing to go. What other people think you’re capable of is none of your business.

Here are some things that help me keep this mindset alive:

    • Keep your focus on what you want, but balance out your time to also work on what you have now.
    • Do not compare yourself to someone else. Stop dwelling on what others may think of your dreams or plan because that will only push them farther away from you. You are capable of great things. Start to believe it everywhere you go.
    • What other people estimate about you, has nothing to do with you. Fight for your dreams.
    • The only real enemy and obstacles are yourself, and your willingness.
    • Get up every day with a purpose. Whether that’s going to a class, going to exercise, going to work or all three, know you’re a goddam boss.
    • Making a check-list of your goals for the day is very helpful. As you accomplish one checking them off comes with the satisfying feeling of knowing you are being productive one step at a time.

So how far are you willing to reach for your goals today? I know I am at the 85% mark if not higher because I want it because I will fight for it. 20%? 40%? Halfway?

Finding confidence in yourself to get up in the morning is not as easy as it may look or sound. Every morning is a battle, that’s how I have come to understand the days. No day is easier or kinder. Instead, every day is a new opportunity to regain strength, and courage to step out of ourselves and act. To act out of our comfort zone, to act on bravery, to act on a commitment to ourselves, to act differently and see a change within ourselves that we can use to change others.

So no it’s not easy AT ALL. But, it all starts with you. The dreams and goals I mentioned popping into your head is your start and your definition of an end. Maybe you’re content with where that start and end align, or maybe you know you can go further. I challenge you to get into competition with yourself, and then you’ll understand that anyone else’s dreams, never mattered. I want you all to prosper and live a long life, and I hope whoever is reading this will choose to take a step back and try again. Keep going. Re-write that poem. Re-type that essay. Choose another major. Sign up for acting classes. Do what it takes, and just KEEP PUSHING FORWARD.

The flesh vs. the soul. Who will win?
