Break the cage

Am I offensive?
Annoying?
Does the fact that I won’t follow behind upset you?
My free spirit and mind of my own make you quiver
You prefer someone caged thinking the thoughts that you hand feed
Walking in silence behind you as your shadow that makes you shine so bright
Never allowing them to have an original anything because that is too wild for you
You give a false sense of independence while you hold all the control
But we are not meant to be controlled
Not meant to be tamed
We must have the courage to shine
Make our own paths
Step out of the shadows and be heard
Break the cage and our silence and know that we are enough

Washington Native. I am an adventurer trapped in a broken shell. I love deep and loud. My pain and happiness comes out on paper. Enjoy.
