Bound

How naïve was I to think our bond would carry over.
A skinned knee, schoolyard brawl, or that. That thing that was so hard.
My hope was a bandaid that has been ripped away.
Gone are your hand, shoulder, and heart.
A heart that once beat along with mine.
It was once you and me against the world.
Now it is you in your world. Me in mine. Separate.
Separate lives bound by blood.
Heartache and grief with nowhere to go.
They will damage even the strongest bonds.
Bonds that got me through what would have destroyed the little girl I once was.

Washington Native. I am an adventurer trapped in a broken shell. I love deep and loud. My pain and happiness comes out on paper. Enjoy.
