Boise

presumably 8 monarchs
admired me sitting beside your granite
watering it for about an hour
speaking to your tangible name
i could feel the irregularities of my heartbeat
syncing with my shortness of breath:
how i know this is a paradigm shift-
your best friend brought snapdragons and pinot gris
we cheersed and she poured the glass where i had just watered
syringas around my ankles,
mother in heart
