Believe Me

Last night I dreamt of you.

Three nights in a row actually.

Usually it’s only two…

One of you in a flower field,

The other, of you where you don’t recognize me.

And I’m actually not surprised of the latter.

I’m always changing, inside, not outside.

Believe me when I say it’s for the better.

Either way, I was always deprived.

You deprived me of everything.

After you I spent hours, days, weeks and years regaining my sanity.

Some days I still struggle to be calm when it rains.

When I’m attacked by life’s droplets of pain and agony.

Believe me when I say, I’m still better off.

You’ll never see a scared girl where I stand.

This WOMAN sings courage into her life, bold faced…You’ll never see her fall!
