Behind the Closed Door

You may have come home to an empty house
but that doesn’t mean you’re all alone.⁣

Someone in this world
thinks of you and
wishes you well.⁣

Someone sees your pain
and wishes
they could hug you tight.

Somewhere right now,
someone hears a laugh
and all they can do
is think of is you.

The curve of your smile
and your warm embrace.
The tiniest beauty mark
that graces your face.

You’re much more
than what lies
behind the closed door.

But it’s all you can see, so you continue to hide.⁣
But somewhere, someone thinks of you.⁣
And every time they do,
they smile a smile,
much bigger then before.⁣
You may not know them yet⁣
or you may, you’ll never know.⁣
You may have crossed paths⁣
along the open road.⁣
There may come a time⁣
when you’ll meet again⁣
but for now, this space⁣
continues to be your own.⁣
Don’t reflect on the emptiness⁣
the solemn⁣
or the loss⁣
instead see this as your time⁣
to become one⁣
with the woman
behind the closed door.⁣
For every piece of life⁣
comes a time and place.⁣
And while this might seem⁣
like the wrong one⁣
it’s just the right space.⁣
A time to connect,⁣
renew and restore.⁣
A time to be one⁣
behind the closed door.⁣
So you might not know him⁣
or maybe you do⁣
but your love won’t be true⁣
if you’re lonely and blue.⁣
So come out of the shadow⁣
and out from your shell and⁣
show us your unbroken,⁣
beautiful self.⁣
