Begin Again

The skies clear and air fills my lungs
The sun shines brighter than it has in months
The waters calm, I take a breath
The surface breaks, the weight lifts
Eyes open to a new world
The memories linger, like a soft fog
There’s nothing left but to move on
Time won’t erase the pain, echoes of your name
The warmth of sunlight on my skin, it’s time, to begin again.

I have a BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment from Full Sail University. I have been a freelance writer for eight years, and writing poetry since I was about 12. Poetry has always been a way for me to not only cope with life, but to express the feelings that overwhelm me.
