An Open Letter to My Dreams

Dear Dreams

I see you boo,

Last night I was up thinking about you

I can feel you close and my heart begins to tremble

Am I ready? Nah; are you ready?

I heard “no” along the way

I heard “them” trying to stop you or stop me from believing in you

I’ve known you ever since I was twelve

We’ve met before when I woke up to another chance at life

We’ve met before on the day I said I do

We’ve met before when the lines were parallel

We’ve met before when my purpose found me standing still

I’ve heard the saying many times before, don’t give up because if there’s a will there’s a way

I’ve learned that people can try to block my ways, my roads, my spirit, my joy, my opportunities

But no one can take away my heart, my passion, my soul, my existence

I hold the key and I am the driver

So I’ll see you soon and no worries I’ll be driving the speed limit

No rush because the best things in life take time

Sincerely, Dreamer
