A stolen moment

It was never a threat

More like a disappointment

Like how did we miss the moment?

I thought our vibes were flowing

We cried so much and lovely times were still stolen

And if the time could be frozen

And if our hearts were more open

Then maybe for once we could find enjoyment in the present moment

It was never a threat

It just made me upset

I almost reached for a cigarette

I meditate and I patiently wait

At this point I am not even reaching for “great”

I just want to think straight

Run away with my soulmate

As the laughter circulates

Our heart speeding at a calming rate

My goal is to reach a different mental state

It was never a threat

But like how did we miss the moment?

So much pain turned me into a poet

And I be zoning

Hoping and smoking

It’s so hard to focus

All because our present moment was stolen

Hello,
My name is Glory Castillo. I have been writing poetry since a very young age. Being an only child, I needed to find a way to process pain alone. I believe poetry is a form of art, expression and therapy. It helps me cope and it also makes me happy when other people can relate to it. Being in the health care field, gives me a better understanding of how important it is to let your mind relax and your thoughts flow. Poetry is my therapy.
