A letter to my future self

When you read this, I hope you think of all the mountains you’ve climbed to get to this point. I hope you see the strength inside you – it’s stronger than anything standing in your way.

I hope you see how beautiful you are when you look in a mirror and when your nephews run to you with open arms, the biggest smile on their face.

Remember the moments that you never thought you’d survive – here you are on the other side. You have accomplished so much and are still chasing your dreams.

Keep writing. Keep teaching. Publish that book. Most importantly, keep growing.

Chase your passion and don’t let anyone persuade you to do otherwise.

I love who you are now. And I love who you are becoming.

I am a New Jersey based poet who aspires to share my story through poetry and prose focused on faith and my journey with depression. I have overcome many obstacles and I believe everyone has a story to tell, even if they haven't found the words yet. I hope my words can inspire others to believe in their purpose and to find strength to climb the next mountain.
