Cheers to the monumental hangover

6am

Invisible sandbags swing from my eyelids
Spilling their grit on bleary eyeballs
My head jangles throughout the basic construction of toast piles, and
Eating reminds me of a cement mixer churning

6pm

My spirit levels on the cold tiled floor
I’m clammy mummy scaffolding supine for you to climb
In return I plant my warm kisses on your cool forehead
Meanwhile, hash browns put on their crispy overcoats

New mum. Newer poet.
Inspired by my 1 year-old daughter, comedy and outer space.
