Wildest Dreams

The most dangerous stories are the one’s we tell ourselves.

We ramble around in the memories of previous discomforts

expecting them to repeat again

How will the other shoe drop this time?

When what we feel is taken as fact we lose before we even begin,

we give up before we even try, and we close doors before anyone can

knock

Then we get angry at others for the mental failures we have

because we were too afraid to take a chance

Too fearful to achieve our wildest dreams, because we don’t know

what that means, we get back to rambling about our last times

and it didn’t work out, that we shut off the faucet for our dreams to flow

We control the power of the universe like it’s our’s to weld, it isn’t

Most of us are walking around with messed up lives because of the

stories we tell ourselves are lies
