The Sea is Calling

Sometimes

I imagine I’m standing

On a sandy shore

Warm, deep blue water kissing my toes

Singing softly

Sadness and longing fill each note

Like salt fills the sea

I wade in

Embracing each wave

Never stop

Never turn around

I want to be swallowed

By that sad love song

By the sea
