My Best Friend Named Mind

Tik tik tik…
Another sleepless night.
Turning and swirling
as if waves pushing me.

Hey there!
I am drowning into the disobedient parent
called anxiety.

As if I am hooked onto a machine,
feeding its medicine
whenever I’ve found some relief.

Aren’t I in the hospital to get you away?
You are one mother*cker who hates being pushed away!

Aren’t the meds supposed to keep me calm?

I tap my two fingers
on my cheeks
just so the electrical current
could bounce off of me,
as if I am Pikachu
ready to shock somebody.

You are one piece of sh*t!
You hate me in the calmer state.
Why can’t you find another person to mess with?

Maybe because you have some pain!

You’re the bloodsucker of relief and peace.
Enjoying the craving of agony and some sadistic whips.

Why is it that my best friend named mind
is being the enemy?
Aren’t we ride to die buddies,
riding the days as we are driving to the road of the end?

And it replies,

I’ll listen to you
if only you listen to me!
You argue because you are scared,
pitching the emergency sirens
when life is saying stay awake!
Turn left! Turn left!
Or else you’ll die!

“You know you are one sick, crazy person,” anxiety said.

“Why don’t you shut it
and I take the driver seat for today
You’ve been worked up
and ask too much,

because your stupid anxiety is killing me mind!”

I said….
