Uncertain times make us believe everything will last forever. It’s an error; focus on what you can control and create certainty around that. this is how you take your power back.
We are living in difficult and strange times, CODV19 has changed everything in the blink of an eye. And with this pandemic, it can be very easy to give in to fear, discouragement, anxiety and all sort of demons.
Uncertainty can make it hard to navigate our art, creativity and our daily lives. Unfortunately, the tendency is to despair, crawl on the floor, be a sack of potatoes and do nothing.
What a time to be alive… but we have a choice. We must decide if we are going to give into sadness or rise up! It’s essential to always choose rebirth over the descent into hell.
I believe we should choose growth, expansion and consciously focus on what we truly need.
Create a sense of safety that will enable you to explore your art and creativity with less fear and anxiety in these times.
It’s important to be aware, focused, and to use systems that will help you go through this period so you can overcome this and learn. Becoming aware of what’s happening in the present moment in a balanced non-reactive way, can help us navigate this time.
Create systems rather than waiting for inspiration to come

Do productive introspection. In this time, it’s important to have strength and not give up; learn to stay calm and grounded, acknowledge the situation and be present.
Being present means being aware of your feelings. Write them down, find solutions to help yourself — because staying sad and anxious won’t help.
Question your time. Are you satisfied with how you have been spending your time or this time?
What do you want to learn more about and study? Why? Which projects give you energy? Which projects take it away? Questioning is an important tool for discovery, clarity and giving yourself solutions.
Important note: don’t accumulate things that you will not do, choose only things that you really want to learn.

Set small and gentle goals and meet them, use discipline and action rather than waiting for inspiration – because we never know when it will come.
Wake up early, schedule your day, and organize your routine. I find it beneficial to filter distractions by doing things like turning off my phone for 90 minutes. Something like this allows you to dedicate time to the important things in your life.
Remember, massive success does not require massive action. Small actions and small activities every day count more, especially if you are able to add joy to what you do and move forward with confidence and consistency.
Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement. Always remember productivity compounds; accomplishing one extra task every day counts, never dismiss small changes.
Recover a sense of power – Focus on action
They say the time in the desert brings us clarity and charity. A path will emerge and insight will be a landmark that shows the way out of the wilderness.
Here are some ideas of habits that can spark your creativity and wellbeing:
- Sketch or paint every day. Everything that you imagine or you see in your house, it will make your artistic muscle grow and obviously will relax you.
- Do aromatherapy. Using essential oils like lavender, eucalyptus, rose or tea tree can do wonders, and they have detoxifying and calming properties that also help to clean the ambiance of your house.
- “The eye has to travel.” Read inspiring books and magazines.
- Become really aware of what’s worth your energy, don’t dwell on negative thinking. Switch your focus to thoughts that support you.
- Brainstorm when you are feeling overwhelmed. Write down all the things that are driving you insane — this will help you to have a clear and stable mind. Keeping a journal is a fantastic way to stay grounded and connected to yourself.
- Prioritize the right things: self-care, rest, eating well, taking your vitamins.
- Meditate. It eases the draining effects of anxiety and naturally restores imbalance to your body + mind.
- Video call your circle of good friends; be positive and supportive to each other.
Always remember life is impermanent, and dry or difficult seasons will always arise. It depends on us, in the choices that we make, in how we want to create our lives, that will make us become strong and ready for anything.
Solutions will always be revealed to us when we turn inward, so let’s take this time to take action on what we can, decide what we want and let go of what does not serve us.
