I don’t look like you

I am not human, they made it clear.
My skin is brown, like the bark on a tree.
They must not let me free!
I am not human, they scream and shout.
My hair grows everywhere, like a bear.
I must not let it grow there!
I am not human, they bring the cage.
My language varies from day to day.
I must be forced to not speak that way.
I am not human, they are convinced.
My blood flows red, they think it’s new,
Because, they say, I don’t look like you.

I live with a dream to become a well known author/writer. I've had this goal since I was a child. I want to create a world for little girls like me. I want to make an impact with words and be immortalized forever. I want to bring change and become a stepping stone for generations to come.
I have only ever written short stories, unfinished novels, and random solitary blogs about anything jumbled in my head. I'd like to take my first serious step into the world of writing. I want to be published and recognized. I want to become an inspiration for women.
