I Almost Thought of You

I almost thought of you

Tonight

When I walked into a bar

Called Havana Nights

And then I almost thought of the days we spent in Italy

And how we walked through the sunsets of every city

And then I almost thought of Mexico

And how the rain followed us

Every place we went to

I almost thought of those pyramids

And almost felt my heart go out of breath

As we climbed through that mist.

And then I almost thought

Of the way you smiled at me

At that island party

But see

These are only thoughts

And before I go just far enough

I remember

I remember

Your temper.
