Him

 

Him.

He had an aesthetic.

An aura.

He exuded the confidence of a superhero.

He had the same job for three years.

He had a routine.

I wanted to mess up his routine.

I wanted to be a part of it.

Waiting for him was like watching raindrops fall on your window pane.

Slow, and sad.

Trying to figure him out was like getting all of the answers wrong on a test you studied so hard for.

Talking to him now is like a wound that constantly reopens.

He’s still in the same routine.

And I can’t break him.

But I don’t think any girl will.

Because he’s a super hero.

And superheroes never had time for heroines.
