the language of a lighthouse

since 1984

i’m feeling beautiful tonight thinking about it,, in red and every color

thinking of him like petals decorate the ground

lovers together and apart have spilled it into paper letters

her last words

143,, 2

my favorite text message from her

what i spill into virtual and paper letters

to my lover and my father

and now everybody we know

the things she asks me to remind her

and the things i ask her to remind me

the things we refuse to forget

the numbers we promised to spread like wildfire

when the only thing we can do is share what she shared with us

143

i love you

143,, 2

i love you, too.
