Erin Scheffels

Erin Scheffels is a Visiting Professor in the English Department at the University of South Florida in Tampa Bay. She has a PhD in Communication and is interested in the complexities of language, narrative theory, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Erin's doctoral studies focus on personal and cultural narratives of mental illness and interpersonal care. Currently, she is focused on branching out to push her work beyond the academy and into publications that are more accessible in terms readership, style, and brevity. A recently graduated yogi, she currently writes about mental illness, community, spirituality, and healing.
