In 2016, the traditional media landscape wasn’t writing or talking about the real, raw and authentic stories women were actually experiencing on a day-to-day basis. After discovering this gap, I knew I wanted to create a space to foster empowerment and connection. I believed that women everywhere would be inspired by the stories that shaped us to be who we are today. It was out of this passion for storytelling that Harness was born.
Harness has evolved over the years to become an all-encompassing community. We publish digital content on a daily basis and a magazine four times a year. In addition, we’ve introduced Handpicked by Harness—a curated marketplace of products made by small artisans with a mission—and opened up the Harness Talent Network, a way to connect our writers to companies looking to hire.
And when we say you belong, we mean it. Harness believes that every voice matters. Harness is for women from all races, backgrounds, shapes, sizes, ages (18+) and countries, and we welcome the LGBTQ+ community with open arms.
The future is bright. It’s bright because of the 2,000+ female writers who have already found Harness and made us their home, as well as the international community that has supported us since the beginning.
